Counter Cafe

603 West 29th St

1914 E 6th St

Counter Cafe serves classic diner food at their two locations with a focus on fresh, local, and organic food. While the beloved original Lamar location closed, there are two locations in central Austin for you to enjoy favorites like the Joe's Special - breakfast potatoes topped with homemade all-natural sausage, sautéed spinach, two farm fresh scrambled eggs, shaved Parmesan cheese, served with a side of 9-grain toast.

The Omelettry

4631 Airport Blvd #131a

If a restaurant names themselves after a particular dish, they had better be damn good at preparing said dish. The Omelettry passes this test with egg-shaped flying colors. Indeed, the Airport Blvd. eatery takes the very concept of an omelet and elevates it to new heights with creative ingredients and generous portions. Ever had a chili con queso omelet or a guacamole omelet? Go to The Omelettry and you can, and much more. Don't be fooled by the clear-cut name, though, this place also makes killer pancakes, french toast, and home fries.

Austin Diner

5222 Burnet Rd

Homestyle cooking in simple digs is what you'll find when you eat at Burnet's utterly delicious slice of the 1950s, Austin Diner. So what kind of breakfast should you order in a place such as this? We're gonna have to go with two eggs over easy, crispy bacon, and some fluffy, buttermilk pancakes. Top it off with a nice cup of coffee and you're going to be in classic breakfast heaven.

Red River Cafe

2912 Medical Arts St

Listen - Red River Cafe is not a cool restaurant. You're not going to find hip interior decor and they definitely don't serve their drinks in mason jars. What you will find, however, is no frills, reasonably-priced delicious breakfast classics. We take what said earlier back - Red River Cafe is cool because they don't try to be. This is a classic diner in every sense of the word. They don't kowtow to trends, and they don't mess around with their breakfast. If you're looking for a quiet place to have a simple, honest-to-goodness American breakfast, check out Red River Cafe. We recommend ordering the steak and eggs and a cup of coffee.

Snooze

Various Locations

Rise and shine and put that box of Shredded Wheat back in the pantry. Snooze is giving us all a reason to wake up on the right side of the bed, thanks to their delicious breakfast innovations. They’ve mastered a whole range of goodies, from their Bella! Bella! Benny (filled with a thin slice of prosciutto, taleggio cheese, perfectly poached eggs on toasted ciabatta, and topped with cream cheese hollandaise) all the way to their Sandwich I Am, a soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled cage-free eggs, cheddar cheese, and a sausage patty, served with a side of house-made smoked cheddar hollandaise – need we say more?
