If You Want: Bufalina's newest concept - a NY-style pizza joint.
Palm Pizza opened in East Austin in December 2024, bringing us a new style pizza from one of the best spots in town. Wondering what the difference is between the two spots? Bufalina serves 12" Neapolitan pizzas, cooked in a wood-burning oven, while Palm's pies are 18” with a thinner crust, and cooked in a gas oven. Aside from their variety of delicious pizzas, they also have salads, garlic knot sandwiches, pizza by the slice, and desserts. We recommend trying their specialty pie, The Palm, which is topped with stracciatella, tomato sauce, mozzarella and finished with parmesan, basil, extra virgin olive oil, and Sicilian oregano.

If You Want: to find out why they are constantly selling out.
Feral Pizza's goal is to bring Austin some wicked good pizza, and that's exactly what they're delivering. Thanks to their scratch made dough (that ferments for about 48 hours) and fresh, simple sauce (just tomatoes, salt, oregano, and olive oil), people are calling this the best pizza in town. They have two different styles to choose from - Feral, which is a thin and crispy sourdough pie, or Grandma, a thin and chewy pan pizza with a crunchy crust and sauce on top of the cheese (pictured above). Be sure to check their Instagram for current hours.

If You: Love L’Oca d’Oro.
The owners behind L’Oca d’Oro, one of the best spots for Italian food in Austin, have opened their own pizzeria! Bambino's pizzas are 13-ish inches, with ten different options to choose from. We love that their pizzas have toppings that vary from typical pizza spots, like the Little Stinker, which is topped with lion's mane, mushroom conserva, fontina, taleggio, mozz, kale, and garlic. Besides pizzas they also have antipasti like fried castelvetrano olives, mozz sticks with cacio e pepe ranch, garlic cheesy bread, and more. Visit them during happy hour (Tuesday - Friday from 2-5pm) for half off pizza pies, frozen drinks, carafes and draft beer.

If You Want: A hot date night that involves pizza, sexy red lighting, and maybe even some cacio e pepe arancini.
La Volta's cozy downtown spot is worth checking out, but their New York style pies are equally as delicious at home. They keep the menu simple with just a few pies and starters to choose from, which is just how we like it. Don't leave without trying their vodka pie made with spicy tomato cream sauce, fresh mozz, mozz, basil, and extra virgin olive oil (pro-tip: add pepperoni).

Not only are you going to get fabulous drinks, but you also get to experience some of the best, most creative pizza in town. allday frequently changes their NY style pizza toppings to keep things fresh, but we have yet to try one we aren't obsessed with. We always order "The Sampler" which includes any 5 slices of your choice, and get the 6th one free! If You Want: To be in the know about one of the hottest pizza spots in the city, check out Sammataro.
This Eastside pizzeria has been getting some serious love from Austinites since they started their food truck back in 2020, and even more since they switched up their location to the outside of Cork and Screw Wine Bar. Serving up New York-style wood-fired pizza, Sammataro is worth the buzz and will have you ordering pie after pie. We recommend any of the pizzas with the little pepperonis. If you know, you know.

Right next door to one of Austin's best Italian restaurants, Sammie's, you'll find Favorite Pizza, where you can get one of the best slices in town. You can also order a whole pie, like their signature bolognese pizza (pictured above) topped with oven-dried tomatoes, fresh ricotta, chile flakes, and lemon. Don't miss out on their subs though, especially the chicken parm (made with Sammie's chicken cutlets smothered in Pomodoro, provolone, and mozzarella).

If you want: To try lasagna Roman-style, square-cut pizza.
From Italy to NYC to Austin, the Baldinucci family has perfected the art of a light and fluffy in-the-middle, yet crispy-on-the-bottom pizza. Their Roman-style pizza is served "al taglio" or "by the cut", which means don't have to just pick one of their tasty creations. They also have plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, so everyone can indulge.

If You Want: To meet your new best friends while eating and drinking, community-style, at long tables and bars at a pizzeria that doubles as a brewpub, check out Pinthouse Pizza.
All the food is made in-house and by hand, with organic ingredients when possible. We recommend you go bold and try the latest “Off the Map” pie, which varies by month. Featuring funky, unexpected combinations and ingredients, each month’s offering basically exemplifies Austin: totally weird and totally awesome. (PS: You should probably drink some of that beer, too.) Pinthouse offers gluten-free crust options as well as vegan cheese for a few dollars more.

If You Want: To fuel your pizza experience with Detroit-style slices—which feature an airy, nearly focaccia-esque crust—served, check out Via 313.
"The Cadillac" features a unique, sweet and salty combination of gorgonzola cheese, fig preserves, shaved prosciutto, shaved parmesan and balsamic glaze that, according to some, is nothing short of pure perfection. Crispy edges and quality meats & cheeses make this worth waiting for. Via 313 has a gluten-free crust option as well as dairy-free cheese.

If You Want: To cure your pizza craving at a hip, Neopolitan-style pizzeria, check out Bufalina.
This restaurant doesn’t overwhelm you with an excessive amount of pizza options, making it excellent for the indecisive eater. If you’re a minimalist with the munchies, try their bare-bones Marinara (which is simply tomato, oregano, and garlic), or step up the fancy factor with another of their specialty options. Their menu changes regularly, so don’t be shocked if you walk in and find something completely different—but surely just as delicious.
