Austin is full of jokesters.
Austin’s comedy scene has demonstrated steady growth over the past few years, and luckily for us, that has come along with a higher volume of queer comedians stepping up to the mic. In fact, this isn’t the first time we’ve rounded up a group of queer comedians we’re excited about. Below is a continued list of comics who have been cracking us up lately, along with a few ongoing showcases to guide you further into the flourishing queer comedy landscape this town has to offer.

Roxy is a true renaissance woman. Her bio states that she’s a “Comedian, Wrestling Manager, NPC, and Grease 2 expert.” And that doesn’t even cover her ventures in burlesque! She's a Cap City 'Funniest Person in Austin' finalist and was nominated for "Best Stand Up" in the 2023 Austin Chronicle's "Best Of Austin” readers poll. Look out for her on the mic at stand up shows or in the ring with Inspire Pro Wrestling. You’ll laugh your ass off no matter what.

Curator and host of Black & Queer AF, a variety show featuring all-Black and all-queer talent, Aira Juliet is another multi hyphenate comedian to keep an eye on. She hosts a monthly Queer Trivia with The Little Gay Shop (Every Third Tuesday night at Wanderlust on Shady Lane) in addition to curating and producing Black & Queer AF, and can be seen at various comedy showcases across town.

Fresh off his 2023 Austin’s Funniest Person win at Cap City Comedy Club, Dylan brings unfiltered, hot takes on gay culture to wide audiences (i.e. the bros at Comedy Mothership) while maintaining grit and sincerity. He also co-hosts Some Of This Is Bad, a chaotic podcast with a fun assortment of (mostly) queer guests, with Colton Dowling. Shout out to Cupcake, local drag legend and iconic guest on Episode #56.

Clara boasts her humor emanates from the trash and filth of a dumpster, but the truth is she’s incisive and thoughtful while still being deeply funny. She’s been on the lineup at Moontower Just For Laughs Austin, featured on the Just For Laughs New Faces of Comedy showcase, and has headlined shows at Cap City Comedy Club and Fallout Theater.
Keep an eye out for her ongoing shows with Good Pollution, a live “brand” featuring two trans women creating videos, noise, and confusion - experimental comedy that cuts through the noise of the heteronormative comedy scene.

Ivy and Aira carved out a path for queer comedy in Austin by recognizing the absence of representation and providing a growth path for new talent by creating Tongue In Cheek. Ivy also hosts FOGO: Fear of Going Outside, a Spotify Studios podcast, and is a regular at comedy clubs throughout the city.
Tongue In Cheek, a queer comedy open mic, takes place the first Thursday of every month at Swan Dive.

Preeminent Van Conversion Vlogger and creator of Only Vans, Ellie can be regularly seen on the TexAss Queer Comedy Show, and has also appeared on Greetings From Queer Mountain, a not-always-comedy but often funny queer storytelling showcase that we also endorse (Every 4th Tuesday at Cheer Up Charlies). But let’s be honest, we’re mostly here for the van content and their gay corgi, Leonardo DeCorgio.
Check out Ellie’s site for upcoming comedy.
