In addition to their four mainstay centers on Slaughter Lane, in Round Rock, North Lamar, and Cedar Park, We Are Blood encourages Austin residents to host mobile blood drives with them. You can make an appointment to donate blood here. Eligible donors are in good health, at least 17 years old, and weigh at least 115 pounds (for whole blood donations) or 110 pounds (for platelet donations). We Are Blood supports the new FDA guidance and plans for implementation announced on May 11, 2023. This guidance recommends the removal of donor eligibility questions about gender and sexual partners. You can read their entire blog post about it here.

The American Red Cross holds multiple drives each month for you to donate blood or plasma. You must be at least 16 years of age, among other requirements. The donation only takes about 8-10 minutes. They have upcoming drives around the city. Find an upcoming drive near you.
