If you live in the South Central Austin area, Uptown Cheapskate is a great spot to visit. Head to South Lamar and sell your gently used clothing to this fun thrift shop and get cash back or 25% more in store credit. Uptown also offers donation options for any of the items they don’t buy back so you can do some good and get rid of all of those clothes all at one stop.

Pavement is one of the newer hot thrift shops with locations off of South Lamar and Guadalupe. This colorful storefront specializes in vintage and costume finds, but they sell all kinds of clothing items and accessories. They offer 35% cash or 50% trade of the store’s retail price directly to you.

Buffalo Exchange has long been a staple of Austin’s college district. With locations on Guadalupe (across from Spider House) and on South Congress, this chain resale shop is a little more selective about their buying process, but they’ll definitely give you a great deal for your nicer items. There's no appointment needed, they buy from from open to close, 7 days a week.

If you’re looking to sell some more upscale designer items, head on over to MOSS Designer Consignment, the premier destination for luxury consignment in Austin. FYI, MOSS only accepts women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry pieces that are freshly laundered and in excellent condition. Just for you lads out there, Second Looks is Austin’s leading men’s resale shop. Operating since 1981, this local staple specializes in upscale men’s clothing sold at a fraction of the cost. Consignments are accepted Tuesday-Friday by appointment only. Second Looks requests that you please bring items on hangers (wire hangers are fine) otherwise they charge $0.20 per item fee to hang things up for you.
