Arielle LaGuette

Shaking up a cocktail of jazz, surf-pop, and folk, Arielle LaGuette’s sound is both classically vintage and vibrantly modern. January 2016 marked the debut of her first full-production EP (self-titled), described as a "solid collection that glides from ’60s-era dreamy folk one minute to ukulele surf-rock the next" (C-Ville Weekly). LaGuette's music career began the day she was inspired to pick up the ukulele at the University of North Texas in Denton. She quickly developed her style and skill, and her talent was soon recognized. LaGuette’s vocal freedom is evident in her most recent single "Settle For You" (2017) from her years performing improv comedy, as her upcoming Sophomore EP “Case of the Times” (2018) emphasizes the importance of passionate risk-taking and fearless choices. Arielle LaGuette’s timeless vocals shimmer as her love songs dive head first into tumultuous emotions while delicately examining the way they fit in with the state of the world. With the finesse of a 1920s Hollywood star, LaGuette subtly throws in a touch of political commentary into her infectious jazzy creations. Recorded at Church House Studios in Austin, TX, “Case of the Times” flows with groovy momentum. This sophomore EP combines her signature ukulele-driven melodies with new, effortlessly cool guitar lines.
