We recently discovered one of our favorite burritos in Austin at Asado's Taqueria. But this isn't a list about burritos (however you can find that here). What really stood out in their Super Burrito for us was their guacamole. As you can see in the photo above, they definitely don't skimp on it—it's generously included in their Super Burritos and Tacos at no extra charge. Trust us, you'll crave more later, so be sure to order a side of chips and guac. You can thank us later.

Whether you want to get your guac fix to-go or on a spacious, shady patio, Fresa's is your place. You can stick with classic guacamole or try their Green Apple guac, topped with pineapple, jicama, and mint. Both come with tasty tortilla chips, but you can also order some carrots and jicama to add a little crunch to your dip for $3.

For guac with a view, check out Iron Cactus. Located downtown with rooftop seating, this popular Sixth Street spot has been serving up Mexican food downtown for over 20 years. The menu is inspired by various regions across Mexico and features over 100 different tequilas. The Iron Cactus also does tableside guacamole, meaning it is prepared right in front of you and mixed to your preference.

A popular Austin staple, it’s not uncommon to see a long line forming outside of Polvo’s. Polvo’s serves interior Mexican food, meaning Mexican dishes that are not Tex-Mex inspired. They also serve margaritas by the pitcher and have a salsa bar with various options. The guacamole is served in a large dish and tastes classic and delicious.

Pueblo Viejo is quite literally a hole in the wall. This place confirms the stereotype that the best food is often found in nondescript places, as the flavors and foods served up at Pueblo are some of the best in town. The guacamole tastes light and fresh, and is a great pairing for the rest of their awesome menu.

El Meson serves up interior Mexican dishes and margs in an open, light dining area. The guacamole is flavorful, freshly-made, and comes served with homemade totopos (flat, round or triangular corn products similar to a tortilla.)

One Taco used to be only a food truck located at Little Woodrow’s - now it's everywhere. Guacamole comes in personal or large size – for yourself, to share or….for the very hungry to devour alone. This “urban taqueria” serves fresh, delicious guac in a nice dining area.

A place still beloved by locals despite its placement in central SoCo, Guero’s is a nice place to eat guacamole, drink a beer and watch some live music. With ample seating and a limited but delicious menu, Guero’s and its guac are worth the drive to South Congress (and even worth trying to find parking.)

Another no-frills yet festive spot, El Taquito has a delicious menu and a chill vibe. The guacamole pairs well with the rest of the menu and is a great start to a delicious meal.

Guacamole is nothing without a good chip. And no one knows this more than Taco Flats. Their crisp, golden chips are ready to scoop up the fresh and delicious guac over and over again. Taco Flats is a great place to go for drinks, guac and...those chips.
