Troop Beverly Hills is one of those goofy 1980's movies that strangely commands a bizarrely loyal fan base. Whether it's the expertly clueless way Shelley Long plays the bumbling lead character, Phyllis Nefler, or the near endless supply of goofy moments, the film has its fair share of hardcore defenders.
The plot centers around shopaholic Phyllis Nefler, whose endless quest for material possessions eventually leaves her husband disillusioned with her, spurring on some much needed self-examination out of the housewife. Phyllis goes on to lead a Girl Scout Troop, to hilarious results.
