AUSTIN FACEBOOK GROUPS TO KNOW
Quite possibly our favorite Facebook group concept, Buy Nothing is a neighborhood-specific group (find yours here) where you can give and receive things for zero dollars. In an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle, Buy Nothing groups were created with the idea of "one man's trash is another man's treasure" in mind. From your next favorite book to a $3,000 used couch, you never know what you'll find for free in your own neighborhood.

New to the Austin area and looking for some advice? This group is a good starting point to find or ask for recommendations about your new home city. It can also be used as a way to meet some other Austin newbies. Even if you're not new to Austin, you can use this group as a way of re-discovering your city in a new way.
